Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

CAMHS is a service for children, young people and families with significant, severe, complex or persistent emotional, mental health, psychological and/or relationship difficulties.

Aims to ensure that children who are looked after, have their health needs dealt with and a care plan in place.

Children's Audiology Service

Provides age appropriate assessments of children and a follow on service from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme and throughout the school life of the child.

Open to any child aged 0 - 19 years where there are concerns or doubts about hearing.

Children's Community Learning Disabilities

To contribute to the reduction of health inequality for children, young people with learning disabilities and their families.

Children & Young People with severe or complex learning disabilities up to the age of 18

Children's Community Nursing Team

Short and long term care for children with needs as below.

Children aged 0-18 years.

Children's Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists provide assessment and advice for children and young people who need help with skills for everyday occupations

Children 0 -18 years, 19 if attending school.

Children's Physiotherapy

Paediatric physiotherapists work with child development and childhood disabilities.

Children 0-18 years 19 if in special education.

Children's Speech & Language Therapy

Aims to meet the needs of children with communication and/or feeding or swallowing difficulties.

Community Paediatrics

This team specialises in treating children and young people aged 0-18 years old outside hospital.

For children 0 -18 years and their families.

Cumbria Sexual Health Services

A specialist, integrated service offering STI testing and management, including HIV outpatient care, and a full range of contraceptive provision plus emergency coil fitting.

The service is open access with a mixture of walk in and appointment only clinics. We also provide information and guidance to health professionals.

DASH (Drugs Alcohol Sexual Health)

Specialist service for young people delivering a range of therapeutic interventions.

Early Intervention in Psychosis

Evidence-based interventions from a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.

Aged between 14-65 years

Health Visitors

Programme of screening tests, advice and access to immunisation, child health reviews,information to support parenting and healthy choices.

For children under the age of 5 years and their parents.

Safeguarding and Protection Team

Discussion of areas of concern with patients, referring to other services where available to build the child and families resilience.

For children and adults at risk.

School Nurses

Assessing the health needs of children at key contacts throughout school years.

School age children.
