Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

CAMHS is a service for children, young people and families with significant, severe, complex or persistent emotional, mental health, psychological and/or relationship difficulties.

Who is the service for?

Children and young people, up to 18 years with a GP in Carlisle or Eden.

Child Development Centre

Provides a service for children with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, physical disability and sensory impairment.

For children aged 0-19 years.

Children Looked After

Aims to ensure that children who are looked after, have their health needs dealt with and a health care plan in place.

For children who are looked after.

Children's Audiology Services

Provides age appropriate assessments of children and a follow on service from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme and throughout the school life of the child.

Who is the service for?

Any child aged 0 - 19 years where there are concerns or doubts about hearing. Also provides surveillance for children with permanent hearing impairments and temporary conductive problems.

Children's Community Learning Disabilities

To contribute to the reduction of health inequality for children, young people and their families with learning disabilities.

Who is the service for?

Children & Young People with severe or complex learning disabilities up to the age of 18

Short and long term care for children with needs as below.

Children aged 0-18 years.

Children's Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists provide assessment and advice for children and young people who need help with skills for everyday occupations.

Children 0 -18 years, 19 if attending school.

Children's Physiotherapy

Paediatric physiotherapists work with child development and childhood disabilities.

Children 0-18 years 19 if in special education.

Children's Speech & Language Therapy

Aims to meet the needs of children with communication and/or feeding or swallowing difficulties.

Community Paediatrics

This team specialises in treating children and young people aged 0-18 years old outside hospital.

For children 0 -18 years and their families.

Cumbria Sexual Health Services

A specialist, integrated service offering STI testing and management, including HIV outpatient care, and a full range of contraceptive provision plus emergency coil fitting.

Who is the service for?

The service is open access with a mixture of walk in and appointment only clinics. We also provide information and guidance to Health professionals.

Specialised and expert information on diet and health ranging from highly specialised treatments for patients with chronic disease to the promotion of healthy lifestyles for health professionals and patients.

Who is the service for?

Provide a service for GPs practices in Carlisle, Eden, including Keswick, Wigton, Silloth, Aspatria, Dalston and Caldbeck, community hospitals and care homes.

Health Visitors

Health Visitors visit all families with a new baby to assess the family health needs and can offer extra support. Programme of screening tests, advice and access to immunisation, child health reviews, information to support parenting and healthy choices.
